Do I need to be comfortable with technology?
No. Everything is explained in plain language, and changes are made at a pace that works for you.
Is this only for people who have been hacked?
No. A review before something happens can reduce risk and make recovery easier.
What does a security audit cover?
It can include email, passwords, phones, computers, home Wi-Fi, backups, privacy settings, scams, and account recovery.
Is this just help with passwords?
No — passwords are one of six areas we review. The full assessment also covers your email and account recovery, devices and updates, home Wi-Fi, backups, privacy settings, and scam readiness. It is a complete review of your digital life, a written plan in priority order, and hands-on help making the fixes — plus someone to call when something looks suspicious.
How do we work together?
Everything happens on a call — by phone, Zoom, or FaceTime. We start with a complimentary Introductory Assessment by video call (about 25 minutes). The Full Assessment also happens by video call, as four focused modules, and implementation is hands-on, together on the call.
How much does it cost?
SmartGen is in its first six months, and there are no set fees during this period. If you find this work valuable, you may make a voluntary contribution of whatever amount feels right to you. It is genuinely optional — you will receive the same care either way. The Introductory Assessment is complimentary.
How long does it take?
The Introductory Assessment takes about 25 minutes by video call. The Full Assessment runs as four modules of about 30–40 minutes each, all by video call — Module 4 can run up to 60 minutes for families — and you can book them one at a time or as a set. Implementation happens in hands-on sessions, at your pace.
Can you help my parents?
Yes — helping seniors and less technical family members is a core part of what we do. We can work with them directly, with you involved as much as you like.
What do you need from me?
Just your time and your questions. You type in your own passwords and codes — we never ask for them, and we store nothing on our systems.
