Personal cybersecurity for individuals and families

We check your online security — then fix what's risky, with you.

We review your accounts, passwords, devices, and home Wi-Fi with you one-to-one, explain what's at risk in plain language, and make the fixes together. So a single scam or hacked account doesn't turn into lost money, a stolen identity, or lost family photos.

Complimentary · About 25 minutes by video call · no commitment.

You stay in control — you enter every password and code yourself.

Clear guidance for adults of every age and level of technical comfort.

How SmartGen works

Four clear stages.

You always know what comes next before anything begins. Every stage happens on a call — by phone, Zoom, or FaceTime.

SmartGen is in its first six months, and there are no set fees during this period. If you find this work valuable, you may make a voluntary contribution of whatever amount feels right to you. It is genuinely optional — you will receive the same care either way.

Stage 1

Introductory Assessment

Price
Complimentary
Format
About 25 minutes, by video call
Description
A guided conversation covering the 9 highest-priority security checks. This is a diagnosis only — no fixes yet. It ends with booking your first module — or the full set.
Stage 2

Full Assessment

Price
No set fee
Format
Four video-call modules, about 30–40 minutes each
Description
The complete 72-check security audit — far beyond passwords — split into four focused modules:
  • Module 1 — Accounts & recovery (~30 minutes)
  • Module 2 — Devices & home network (~35 minutes)
  • Module 3 — Money, government & privacy (~35 minutes)
  • Module 4 — Scams, recovery & family readiness (~40 minutes, up to 60 for families)
We typically uncover gaps like recovery settings pointing to an old phone number, a router still using its factory password, or family photos with no backup. You receive a Family Security Plan with everything prioritized.
Stage 3

You enter every password and code yourself — we never ask for them.

What we check

The Full Assessment works through 72 checks in six areas. The Introductory Assessment starts with the 9 that matter most. These are the openings scammers and identity thieves actually use — most households have several without knowing it.

01

Email & recovery

Your main inbox, recovery addresses, and the settings that can reset everything else.

02

Passwords & sign-ins

Unique passwords, a password manager, and multi-factor authentication set up properly.

03

Devices & updates

Phones, computers, and tablets: updates, encryption, and safer settings.

04

Home Wi-Fi

Router password, firmware updates, and who can join your network.

05

Backups

Photos and important files backed up, so a bad day is not a disaster.

06

Privacy & scam readiness

Account privacy settings, plus a simple family plan for suspicious calls and messages.

Scam protection

When a message feels urgent, slow down.

AI can imitate a familiar voice or face in a call or video, and make phishing messages sound convincing. A simple family plan can help you respond safely.

01

Stop

Do not send money, share a code, or follow a link while you feel pressured.

02

Verify

End the conversation, call back using a trusted number, and use a private family code word for unusual requests.

03

Act

If you made a mistake, contact the provider through its official channel and secure the affected account.

Questions

What people ask.

Do I need to be comfortable with technology?

No. Everything is explained in plain language, and changes are made at a pace that works for you.

Is this only for people who have been hacked?

No. A review before something happens can reduce risk and make recovery easier.

What does a security audit cover?

It can include email, passwords, phones, computers, home Wi-Fi, backups, privacy settings, scams, and account recovery.

Is this just help with passwords?

No — passwords are one of six areas we review. The full assessment also covers your email and account recovery, devices and updates, home Wi-Fi, backups, privacy settings, and scam readiness. It is a complete review of your digital life, a written plan in priority order, and hands-on help making the fixes — plus someone to call when something looks suspicious.

How do we work together?

Everything happens on a call — by phone, Zoom, or FaceTime. We start with a complimentary Introductory Assessment by video call (about 25 minutes). The Full Assessment also happens by video call, as four focused modules, and implementation is hands-on, together on the call.

How much does it cost?

SmartGen is in its first six months, and there are no set fees during this period. If you find this work valuable, you may make a voluntary contribution of whatever amount feels right to you. It is genuinely optional — you will receive the same care either way. The Introductory Assessment is complimentary.

How long does it take?

The Introductory Assessment takes about 25 minutes by video call. The Full Assessment runs as four modules of about 30–40 minutes each, all by video call — Module 4 can run up to 60 minutes for families — and you can book them one at a time or as a set. Implementation happens in hands-on sessions, at your pace.

Can you help my parents?

Yes — helping seniors and less technical family members is a core part of what we do. We can work with them directly, with you involved as much as you like.

What do you need from me?

Just your time and your questions. You type in your own passwords and codes — we never ask for them, and we store nothing on our systems.
